For the EMEA Self Custody Tax department in our company State Street Bank International GmbH in Munich we are looking for a Tax Reclaim Coordinator (m/f) – Job ID R-595658.

Processing and handling of German tax and tax reclaims, distributing of tax information, coordinating tax issues and acting as an information source for the various areas in the company requiring information on country and client specific taxation issues.  Combining problem solving skills and know-how about German specific tax regulation and reclaim processing as well as technical knowledge, the Tax Reclaim Coordinator independently handles the daily issues occurring in the EMEA Self Custody Tax Department.

Major Responsibilities

  • Generate EFP source file based on EFP file received by Global Tax Service in the US and send to the German Tax Authority
  • Generate Tax Vouchers for German paper reclaims and submit the reclaim package to the German tax authority
  • Act as single point of contact to the German tax authority and update Global Tax Services in the US in respect of rejected reclaims and issues with reclaims
  • Inform Global Income about paid reclaims
  • Handle withholding tax on German income payments for our global client base and submit the withholding tax to the German tax authority
  • Process withholding taxes for tax liable clients on interest payments and generate tax statements
  • Handle tax processing for investment fund distributions and accumulations
  • Bookkeeping of internal tax accounts
  • Issue single and accumulative tax vouchers for our Bank Multi clients upon request

Education, Experience and Skills

  • Appropriate educational training in finance/taxes/accounting/business or equivalent experience
  • First years of relevant tax experience
  • Knowledge of tax law regulations and market standards over the various countries
  • Fluency in English
  • Knowledge of MS Office Applications
  • Team orientation with demonstrated communication skills and service orientation
  • Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines and adapt to changes
  • Strong sense of quality and commitment to interact with internal or external clients effectively and professionally
