This position will lead in implementing, maintaining, supporting, developing, and designing our corporate network. This role ensures the integrity of high availability and secure network infrastructure to provide maximum resiliency and performance to the users.

Job Description

Major responsibilities

  • Establish the networking environment by designing system configuration, directing system installation as well as defining, documenting and enforcing system standards
  • Design and implement new solutions and improve resilience of the current environment
  • Maximize network performance by monitoring performance, troubleshooting network problems and outages, scheduling upgrades and collaborating with network architects on network optimization
  • Lead and participate in bridge calls and root cause analysis
  • Enforce security rules and secure network systems by establishing policies and monitoring
  • Conduct capacity and performance management
  • Management of firewall environments in line with IT security policy
  • Report network operational status by gathering and prioritizing information
  • Manage and participate in projects
  • Upgrade data network equipment to the latest stable firmware releases
  • Configure routers, switches, load balancers, firewall equipment, and hosted IP voice services
  • Capacity management and audit of IP addressing and hosted devices within data centers
  • Working with Checkpoint & Palo Alto Firewall, Cisco Call Manager, Cisco Nexus 2kand5k and IronPort Proxies

Qualifications

Education, Experience and Skills

  • Completed Bachelor’s degree or comparable education
  • Experience in an IT network function within a complex technology organization
  • Proficient IT know how, especially OSI, TCP/IP, DMZ, firewalls and authentication systems, routing protocols, MPLS, VPN, switches and routers
  • Knowledgeable of infrastructure services such as DNS, DHCP, SMTP, LDAP
  • Strong understanding of enterprise technologies including Network, Firewall,
  • Client/Server and Backup/Restore
  • Ideally experience with disaster recovery planning and execution
  • Fluency in English and good knowledge in German
  • Able to recognize and manage with metrics, establishing and reporting on KPIs as well as to drive ad-hoc and virtual teams to problem resolution
  • Strong communication, technical, analytical, trend analysis and problem solving skills
  • Proactive team player with distinct service orientation
  • Ability to work in a high pressured and time sensitive environment
  • Able and willing to perform on-call duties and to travel up to 25%
