With the guidance and support of Ripplewood, Fidor is launching a new strategic plan which aims to reposition the bank as a leading partner for digital asset market participants and Fintech firms across Europe. The key product capabilities of the bank would encompass the entire spectrum of banking services including payments, lending, and savings to both individuals and SME customers.

YOUR TASK

As a Head of, you will be responsible for managing the Group Accounting and Regulatory Reporting Team. The team consists of up to 10 employees. You will report to and deputise for the CFO. The scope of duties also includes the following tasks:

  • Take responsibility for Accounting of the German GAAP (HGB) closing in time for Fidor Bank AG (Group) (monthly, quarterly and year end)
  • Consult the CFO and Management Board in all accounting relevant questions
  • Take responsibility to coordinate the year end external audit process and ensure timely closure
  • Carry out variance analysis and reconciliation in close cooperation with Group Operations between the various banking system like FoS, the Core Banking system Bancos and the General Ledger Datev.
  • Develop and implement a Bank wide Accounting Reserve Policy in close collaboration with the Risk Office
  • Take responsibility for Regulatory Reporting and ensure in time delivery to the relevant stakeholder.
  • Consult the CFO and Management Board in all regulatory reporting relevant questions.
  • Liaise together with the CFO and management board with the relevant stakeholder like BaFin, Bundesbank, Supervisory Board and Shareholder.
  • Definition and sign off on bookkeeping rules and regulatory requirements for new products and changes to existing products.
  • Take Responsibility for timely implementation of new products in the core banking system Bancos and General Ledger Datev.
  • Lead and support of projects with focus on accounting and regulatory reporting in particular in time adoption of new rules and regulations.
  • Lead the Group Accounting and Regulatory Reporting Teams professionally and disciplinary

YOUR QUALIFICATION

  • Finance, Business administration, Accounting degree or comparable education in finance or industry
  • Additionally certified management accountant (Bilanzbuchhalter) international or similar or tax advisor
  • Minimum ten years experiences in all kinds of financial accounting, auditing and project experience
  • Very good knowledge of using accounting systems
  • Knowledge in HGB/ IFRS, calculation of transaction, Hedge Accounting, CRR, KWG
  • Knowledge of the Core banking system Bancos
  • Very good knowledge in Microsoft Office, Datev and other ERP-systems
  • Customer-oriented Thinking
  • Willingness to take responsibility, hands-on-mentality and endurance
  • Results-oriented acting

  • Very good German and English skills are a must
  • Good language skills in French are a plus
